Kyle MacLean (Class of 2020)
Kyle MacLean was a prolific scoring shooting guard and four-year contributor for Westlake Basketball, leaving his mark as one of the most dynamic offensive players in program history. As a senior, he averaged 21.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while setting single-season program records, including 43 points in a game, 662 points in a season, and 110 three-pointers made. MacLean earned League MVP honors during the 2019–20 season, along with All-League, All-County, First Team All-CIF, and Second Team All-State recognition. A senior captain, he was known as a true “gym rat,” consistently putting in extra work and setting the standard for preparation and commitment. An honors student with a reported 4.6 GPA, MacLean also served as a peer tutor and earned a bilingual rope for four years of Spanish. After Westlake, he walked on to the UCSB men’s basketball team before the COVID-19 pandemic altered his collegiate path. He went on to graduate from UCSB in 2024 with a degree in Communications and is currently working in tech sales at Salesforce in San Francisco.
